How about driving laws in China?

Let's read this article about China's new 5-Year Action Plan to improve the nation's driving environment.

  • Which parts of the plan do you think are most important?
  • If you returned to China next week and were forced to drive on a daily basis, what are the top three laws you would hope to have the general driving population follow. Why would each of these three be most important in keeping you safe?

Hint: you may want to use some of the laws stated in the Upfront Article: Unsafe Behind the Wheel or this article about China's plan.

Write an I Am Poem

 Goals:
  • To write a poem that represents oneself.
  • To creatively add imagery that compliments both the poem as a meaningful expression of self.
  • To get to know each other through as we share our projects.
You may use  this format to help you create a poem of your own.

When you finish your poem, use the on-line tool to "Create My Instant I Am poem now!" and copy/paste it to either Notability or Pages. Add an image or two and upload the document to GoogleDrive; then share it with me (ambergowest@gmail.com). We will present these poems (20 pts) tomorrow along with your Pinterest boards (10 pts).

Here is an example of my own I Am poem.

I Am

I am adventure sensitive.

I wonder what silly thing my daughter will say next.
I hear country music playing in my head.
I see a burly man...but he can't even crawl yet.
I want a double scoop of butter pecan iced cream and a space heater.
I am adventure sensitive.

I pretend to be angry when I actually want to laugh.
I feel warmth and peace.
I touch the alarm clock again.
I worry my babies will grow up too fast.
I cry because babies and old friends, like ice cream, they just don't keep.
I am adventure sensitive.

I understand how precious each moment is.
I say time is short but you are forever.
I dream we will understand our own power to care.
I try to show what I can't say.
I hope they know how much I love them.
I am adventure sensitive.
