Please help the substitute to find the hard copies of our magazine. It is hidden behind the big picture of me and my husband on the shelf by my desk.
I would like you to explore a major current issue here in the U.S. Please follow these steps and help the substitute with whatever she or he asks you to do.
- First, in Notability, answer this journal question: What does China do to prevent large amounts of immigration into the country? If it is possible, how would a person from another country take up residence in China?
- Vocab: You should have already copied my vocabulary set on Quizlet. My set is called "Upfront Immigration." Please continue your Notability document by writing a sentence using each of the 20 words.

- In Notability, make a set of reasons in two bullet point lists. List one - give all the reasons in FAVOR of immigration (How is immigration a good thing for the U.S. and for people?). List two - give all the reasons why the U.S. should stop or seriously limit immigration (How is immigration a bad thing for the U.S. or for people?). Refer back to the article to help you find the information.
- Take the quiz and record your score out of 13 at the bottom of your Notability document. Click here.
- Check out this NYT article specifically about Mexican immigration. Click here.
- Write a summary of the NYT article including the information as well as how you felt as you viewed the images. Then write one paragraph explaining you opinion of what should be allowed by law for those who desire to immigrate to the U.S. Explain why you would choose to structure the law this way.
- When I return, we will submit this document to Focus for a grade.
